More traditional studies are like a niche market; competing against one another in an effort to attract students. An interdisciplinary study provides a global perspective and doesn't relegate the student to just one area of expertise or specialization. There are a number of ways interdisciplinary studies can benefit the business world. All of these skills transfer to a variety of careers and avail me a broader range of career opportunities. Interdisciplinary studies has provided me with a cross-functional set of skills I may not have otherwise acquired and hones being pigeon holed in a singularly focused degree program.
